Host and chef Michael Huber and his team prepare modern, natural dishes with seasonal and regional products. A variety of generous and delicious appetizers, crispy delicacies from the wood stove, a carefully composed menu of choice with several courses, homemade sweet surprises, a wine offering that embodies the landscapes, the grace and passion of the Austrian way of life. Food intolerances (lactose, gluten)? Allergies? Diabetes? We prepare all dishes carefully and will consider your wishes. Please let us know if you have any intolerances or allergies when you make your booking.

ESSBAR Upgrades
Our à la carte restaurant, ESSBAR, is renowned in the region and beyond for its top quality steaks. It has been awarded 2 forks by the Falstaff Restaurant Guide for several years. To enjoy ESSBAR dishes as a Sonnenhof guest, we offer the following UPGRADES to your half board arrangement:
Option 1 – between Wednesday and Saturday
You enjoy dinner at your assigned table and choose from our ESSBAR à la carte menu in place of our half board meal. If you opt out of the half board meal, we will credit €20 per person to your room/hotel bill. Please contact our reception team.
Option 2 – daily available
You enjoy our half board menu of the day at your assigned table and exchange the main course at an extra charge for beef fillet, entrecôte, rib-eye, or Churrasco steak. Please book in advance in the morning.
